Relief Fund Established Oklahoma Tornado Victims
Governor Mary Fallin, in coordination with the United Way of Central Oklahoma, has established the OK Strong Disaster Relief Fund to assist with the long-term medical emotional and educational needs of t victims of the May 20 Tornado in Moore and the May 19 tornado near Shawnee.
This website is very informative and gives you many ways to help the victims of the tornado. They list the Red Cross, Salvation Army, Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief, Oklahoma Blood Institute United Way of Central Oklahoma and Feed the Children.
The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services has established an emergency response center within the tornado disaster zone in Moore. This center will be located in the Cleveland County Health Department at 424 S. Eastern Avenue in Moore. and will provide walk-in services in addition to coordinating mobile crisis response teams to be deployed throughout the impacted area.
If you are a licensed mental health professional, a certified case manager, or a certified recovery support specialist and would like to assist those affected by the May 20th Moore tornado please call 405-522-3908. Provide your name, certification or license number, email and a cell phone number and you will be contacted by a representative of the agency’s disaster response team. Credentials will be verified.

The Indy Fund was originally started in 2007 by because of the observations of its founder that neither the Department of Defense nor the Veteran’s Administration were sufficiently providing some of the most severely mobility challenged veterans (spinal cord injured, triple and quadruple amputees) with the state of the art wheelchairs that they deserve. Since then the Independence Fund has provided more than $700,000.00 in mobility devices to deserving veterans of the War on Terror.
